Allen has enjoyed ponds for over 20 years. Through much trial and study, he has developed knowledge about building ponds, various types of equipment, aqua plants, and the care of koi. Allen was asked by several friends to build them a pond, and his career took a turn as he installed ponds exclusively for over 10 years. When the owner of Pacific Water Gardens in SLO retired, Allen knew it was time to expand his business and open The Pond Place. When Allen was building ponds, he was frustrated that no one wanted to talk to him or give him advice unless he had his wallet out.

Over the years, Allen has developed his ability to help costumers with anything from pond design to choosing koi. Allen knows the ""how to" and the "how much" of pond construction. Allen enjoys giving advice to the homeowner and contractor alike. His goal is to inform and help so customers can enjoy their pond as much as he does his.
